Peter Obi Defeats Atiku And Tinubu With Huge Margin In Imo State.
The winner of the presidential election held in Imo State on Saturday has been named by the Independent National Electoral Commission as Peter Obi of the Labour Party.
Obi received 352,904 votes, according to Charles Esimone, the state’s returning officer, while Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress received 66,171 votes, Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party received 30,044 votes, and Rabiu Kwankwaso received 1,536.
In 26 of the state’s 27 Local Government Areas, results were compiled.
According to the returning officer, violence prevented the Njaba LGA results from being tallied.
Although Peter Obi was able to defeat the other candidates with a huge margin in Imo State, however, the difference between the total number votes recorded by each candidate so far is huge.
Unlike both Tinubu and Atiku, Peter Obi is still lagging behind with the total number of votes secured so far.
While PDP has won about 10 states so far, Tinubu has won about 7 states, while Peter Obi has won between 6 and 7 states.
Thus, Nigerians expect that results from the other States will be released soon.
